NEA: Jazz in the Schools
NEA Jazz in the Schools is an educational resource for high school teachers of social studies, U.S. history, and music. The five-unit, web-based curriculum and DVD toolkit explores jazz as an indigenous American art form and as a means to understand American history.

It will include a teachers' guide with five curricular units featuring teacher tips, cross-curricular activities, and assessment methods. Each kit also includes student materials, a timeline poster, a CD, and a DVD featuring video and musical excerpts along with all print materials in digital form.

Tanglewood 4H Camp and Learning Center
in Lincolnville, is looking for arts educators to teach a one week “specialty focus” for campers ages 9 – 14. Share your love of art and nature with young people, spend a week outdoors, teach and have fun! Teaching time is generally 9 am -12 noon, Monday through Friday, with possible afternoon electives if artist chooses to reside at camp. Suggested specialties include ceramics, music, drawing, painting, arts in nature, and woodworking. Each focus should create an artistic connection with the natural world, utilize relatively simple and inexpensive materials; it should also include a group, as well as individual projects for campers to take home. A small stipend is available, as well as optional room and board and camp activities for your own children ages 8-14. NFAA youngARTS program
youngARTS provides recognition and awards to young artists across the country.

Early registration discount is available until June 1st, 2007. After June 1st, registration for youngARTS 2008 will go up $10 to $35. Registration ends officially on October 1st, 2007.

This is a unique program that offers up to $10,000 in individual cash awards, over $500,000 in total cash awards, $3 million dollars in college scholarship and opportunities as well as the chance to come to Miami for an all-expense paid week of showcase performances, master classes, and more.
